Wardrobe Animation Tech SL Stagecraft
CURRENT PRODUCTION SPONSORSHIP ABOUT

This was our first production, and made under an abysmal budget. The wardrobe was assembled with the impeccable fashion sense of our fashionistas from readily available vendors, with no custom outfits created—other than skins, shapes, and eyes donated by SLface c/o IC-Skins.

The Wardrobe Department’s first assignment was to design photorealistic skins, shapes, and eyes for the five actors in Hamlet Act 1, Scene 1, and to procure appropriate clothing and hair for their characters. With input from our historians, here’s what we came up with:

  1. Francisco Francisco is a youth with insomnia who got drafted into the King’s army and sent out to nightwatch when all the other guards are cowering in fear. He's bitter cold and sick at heart.
    1. SLface.com: We gave him pale skin, and sleep-deprived eyes. In addition, since he’s the first guy seen onstage, he has a bit of blood in his irises to foreshadow the Ghost’s ominous words that drive the whole play.
    2. Influence Hair: [ND] Tamed – Black Pearl
    3. Bare Rose: Robe of Light Force Shirt, Pants, Shoes, and Rogue Weast (belt), and Chaser Gloves
    4. Illusions: Bauta Cloak Medium ([IC-textures] Brown Metal)
    5. [IC-gadgets] Face Lighting Trident Brite
  2. Barnardo Barnardo is older than Francisco, and a higher ranking guard. He’s prone to bragging, but tells the truth to Horatio, and the Ghost’s sudden appearance right after vindicates him. Even though he’s scared, he’s out tonight because he believes Marcellus and Horatio will come out soon.
    1. SLface.com: We gave him a sort of wind-burnt lightly pock-marked skin, since he takes on night guard. He also has furrowed eyebrows.
    2. Influence Hair: [ND] Tamed – Cool Bay
    3. Bare Rose: Crusader socks, and Paladin gloves, pants, and shirt, and Shadow Master Red Mantle
    4. [IC-eyes] Naja Eyes :: Cerulean Star
    5. [IC-gadgets] Face Lighting Trident Brite
  3. Marcellus Marcellus is both a military man and a courtier. His face is a bit brazen to convey his military experience, and his clothing shows his status.
    1. SLface.com: We interpreted “military man” as some unshaven guy with a sort of wild look to him.
    2. Influence Hair: [ND] Gabriel – Cool Bay
    3. Bare Rose: Admiral Shirt and gloves, Prince of Orient pants (modified)
    4. Masks & Feather: Lace neck and cuffs
    5. Illusions: Pirate Boots
    6. [IC-eyes] Yann Original
    7. [IC-gadgets] Face Lighting Trident Brite
  4. Horatio Horatio is a scholar, and he’s just been fetched by Marcellus as a consultant to explain (and witness) the phenomenon of the ghost.
    1. SLface.com: Nerds are sexy, so we made him into a lothario.
    2. Influence Hair: Desire – Cocoa
    3. Bare Rose: Rogue Black Mantle, and Black Cygnus Hat, pants, and shirt, and Chaser lady gloves
    4. Illusions: Pirate Boots (modified)
    5. [IC-eyes] Vidad Eyes Brown
    6. [IC-gadgets] Face Lighting Trident Brite
  5. Ghost
The Ghost is the spirit of young Hamlet’s father, and the late King of Denmark. Although he doesn’t speak in Scene 1, he does play a major role to drive the play forward.
    1. SLface.com: We made him a man of venerable age with sable beard and gave him a look of innocent regret. He has eerie luminescent gray-blue eyes.
    2. Bewitched: Dirk Hair (modified)
    3. [IC-fash] Historicals :: Burnt Armor shirt, pants, and socks; and Basinet
    4. Illusions: Bauta (red)
